Description
Our Concrete Drive Pins are high-performance fasteners designed for Powder Actuated Tools (PAT). They provide a rapid, reliable method for attaching steel, wood, or concrete to solid base materials without the need for pre-drilling. Manufactured from high-carbon steel and heat-treated for maximum hardness, these pins ensure a secure, permanent hold in both steel and concrete applications.
Application Guide: Choosing the Right Pin
Selecting the correct pin ensures safety and structural integrity.
| Base Material | Recommended Pin Type | Shank Feature | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Concrete / Masonry | Standard Drive Pin | Knurled Shank | Requires high-impact energy. |
| Structural Steel | Steel Drive Pin | Smooth Shank | Must be harder than the steel plate. |
| Light Gauge Steel | Pin with Washer | Smooth Shank | Used for attaching track to steel studs. |
| Overhead / Ceiling | Ceiling Clip Pin | Specialized Head | Designed for suspending utilities. |
Material & Heat Treatment
The quality of a drive pin depends entirely on its metallurgy.
- Body: Made from #45 Carbon Steel or ML40Cr.
- Tip Hardness: Heat-treated to HRC 52-57 to ensure it does not deform upon impact but remains brittle enough to penetrate.
- Shank Hardness: Maintained at HRC 30-40 to provide ductility and prevent snapping.
Safety & Compliance
- Warning: These are Powder Actuated Fasteners. They must be used with compatible tools and appropriate power loads (cartridges).
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources and open flames.
- Certification: Complies with ISO 9001 manufacturing standards and CE safety requirements.
